HUDSON Mentoring
Turn Potential Into Performance
ABOUT US
Who we are, and why we do this
About HUDSON Mentoring
At HUDSON Mentoring we believe in the power of mentors to change lives. To help people achieve their goals and achieve them faster. Many of us have been lucky enough to have a mentor.
A high school teacher who sees what you could be, or
A parent who believes in you. or
A boss who really invests in your talent.
It’s powerful and life-changing. Everyone deserves a mentor like that. Let’s make it happen.
Moving Forward
This area of our work helps people move forward into a different chapter of their lives.
Our mentors have been there, done it, bought the t-shirt, taken over the t-shirt company, and turned it into a multi-million dollar franchise.
They’ll show you what worked for them, what didn’t and help you move forward with purpose and power. This part of our work is heavily subsidized. It’s our way of giving back.
When you get a mentor, you also help pay for a mentor for someone transitioning from the military, peace corps, or for an underprivileged student leaving college. This is the premise and promise on which we are established.
Founders & Leadership
Why I wanted to start HUDSON Mentoring
“When I started out in Ireland, I had my father to lean on for advice. Looking back I realize how lucky I was. To have someone who had earned his wins and owned his losses. He has always been my role model and Hudson Mentoring is inspired by Maurice Hudson." - Karl Hudson.
When I was 36 I moved into software sales and I didn’t have time to waste. I needed to accelerate my career by moving to America at 38.
But I didn’t know a single person in the country. I was on the hook for all my decisions, and I didn’t have the person to bounce ideas off like before. I felt alone, exposed, and for the first time, I was scared.
Without a mentor, I made two key mistakes. I either second-guessed myself and didn’t trust my gut or I went the other way and acted with ego and little insight. Neither helped me get very far. When I found a mentor again, it was like getting the wind back in my sails. I could trust my judgment, but also verify it. In short, it made me better. A better professional (through being better at my job), a better husband (through being less stressed and agitated), and a better friend (by not having to be right all the time). Challenge yourself to be better, happier, more productive, and nicer to be around, share the burden of being you in your life, with someone who has walked that path.

Paul Polo CIO
Paul is inspired by his parents who emigrated from Ecuador in the early 90s. His dad served in the US Army and fought overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom and is now a civil engineer. His mother has worked in the hospitality industry for over 30 years. Together, they instilled strong values through discipline, faith, empathy, and work ethic. Paul’s 10-year military career as an intelligence specialist in the Navy strengthened those values which enabled him to quickly rise through the ranks.
Why Paul is a driving force in Mentoring...
The Navy’s success is dependent on leaders who will mentor those that will succeed them. I have personally been a part of and led mentorship programs both in the Navy and in the public sector working with the Human Cloud. The Human Cloud is currently leading a pilot program at FIU, mentoring students and introducing them to internships that build valuable skills early in their college careers.
